There once was a building....

There once was a building that stood at 4101 Nowata Rd. That was until Oct. 21, 2008 when, along came a big track hoe and took that building away.

Stay tuned in the coming months to see what will take the place of that old building...

Going to Grandma's

Ok well it wasn't just Grandma's its Grandpa's too. My mom, my sister and I loaded up my three nieces and headed south of the border, the Oklahoma border that is. My sister and I began to think about it and realized that neither of us had been to see our grandparents in almost two years, so with me not working and the kids being on fall break we all loaded up last week and went for a visit. We left on Wednesday afternoon and came back on Friday night, it was a short trip but that was just fine with us. Though we love our grandparents to death the little town that they live is less than exciting, I mean you can only go to Wal-Mart so many times and well that is all there is to do there. But while we were there we took the opportunity to take a few pictures.

Gina and I took this picture of my Grandma, my Grandpa and the three girls. We then went to Wal-Mart blew it up to 8X10 and bought a frame for it we gave it to my grandparents I think it made their day. I know it was sitting right on top of the TV when we left for all to see anyway.

My mom ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things and found these wax vampire teeth/lips, Gina and I were all excited when she pulled them out then she told us they were for the girls. I guess we have to grow-up sometime :(

This is Tricksie, my dad got her for my grandparents 12 years ago. We sometimes wonder if she doesn't eat better than my grandparents. I mean how many rat terriers really weigh 40lbs? (by the way I'm not kidding, that's what the vet weighed her at)

And what would we do without timers on cameras? We took this pic of all of us before we left. I'm thinking Grammie and Grandpa don't really care too much for pictures.

So apparently I suck at keeping up with my blog, it just gets so frustrating when your pictures won't upload, I'm going to make an attempt at doing better I promise!

THINGS AT THE FAIR

So normally I just go to the fair and eat the same stuff and see the same things. Well this year I did eat my corn dog, my caramel apple slices, and my cinnamon roasted almonds. I also registered to win whatever the news channels were giving away, walked through the prefab homes (not that I would ever buy or live in one but yet I still have a fascination with them), ate the samples of whatever people were giving away, watched demonstrations (Dalene I didn't sit and watch the salsa maker but when I saw it I thought of you), anyway you get the point you return to the fair every year though it never really changes the stuff is always the same.

Well this year I saw a sign saying the weiner mobile would be there so I was intrigued, I had never seen the weiner mobile, so I read the time that it would be there and what do you know it was there at that time!!! So Gina and I went out to the front of the Expo building and there it was just as amazing as I had always dreamed, Ok well maybe I have never dreamed of the weiner mobile. But I did get this awesome picture with it and the Oscar Meyer Weiner

What do I do when I'm not working?

I haven't worked since Tuesday of last week, so the common question is what do you do all day? Well I have been to the Tulsa fair, been to a consignment baby sale, had lunch with some friends, rearranged/cleaned a room in our house, dropped off and picked up my niece at school, and today I finally slept in for the first time since I haven't been employeed, then I made Lasagna and did some shopping with my sister. The agenda for tomorrow will be doing my laundry, cleaning my room and when that is done I will move onto the kitchen (my goal is to have the house semi-clean by the end of the week)Wish me Luck!

RIP Tiger Lilian 1991-2008

Ok so Tiger was my cat, my baby, the best cat ever. She started her life by being born in our bathroom linen closet on the clean towels, her mom Maggie was no dumb cat she knew the most sanitary place to have her babies. Well when our cat Maggie had her litter of kittens my parents told me I could pick out one kitten, so I looked them all over and I picked Tiger. Well we gave her the name Tiger simply because of her stripes, she later picked up Lilian, ok so maybe I was the only one who called her Lilian but I think the whole family used it from time to time. She had other alias too like Tigger lily, anyway you get the point. So Tiger was born in 1991 While we were at my sisters orchestra concert, she then became my baby, she would let me dress her up in doll clothes push her around in the doll stroler and even swaddle her in blankets. She has grown up with me, I mean I know she wasn't going to live forever, but we didn't expect this. My mom and I had gone to Walmart last night when we returned we were taking in the groceries and my dad was backing his truck into the driveway. Thats when he and I both heard a funny noise, he even got out of the truck to see what it was but didn't see anything. So we went about what we were doing, ate dinner and my dad went back outside. Thats when he saw her, she was laying next to the driveway with her collar next to her, we still aren't entirely sure what happened because none of her bones seemed to be broken, but she did have a spot on her head, my sister seems to think she got in the fan of the engine, my dad thinks maybe he just ran over the side of her head, but I think it looks like she was bit by something I guess we will never know. But it was sure an emotional time at our house last night, and I think my dad felt really guilty. I think we all loved that cat, I think she was just another member of the family. But now she is in heaven with my old dog Cookie who died a couple of summers ago. But Tiger will definitely be missed. :'(
